By accessing and using AskAdela ("the Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree to these terms, please do not use the Service.
AskAdela provides spiritual guidance and entertainment services through audio responses to user-submitted questions, as well as optional recurring subscription plans ("Subscriptions") and personalized ritual services. The Service is intended for entertainment and personal reflection purposes only and should not be considered professional advice.
You must be at least 18 years old to use this Service. By using the Service, you represent and warrant that you meet this age requirement.
New users receive one free question when available. Additional questions require purchasing question credits. Prices are subject to change. We offer a 30-day satisfaction guarantee only if your very first reading was a paid purchase (in cases where the free question was not available): if you are not satisfied with your first paid reading, you may request a full refund within 30 days of purchase. If you received a free reading first, you cannot claim a refund on any subsequent paid readings. All other one-off purchases (question credits, individual rituals, audio upgrades) are final and non-refundable unless required by law.
AskAdela offers optional recurring Subscriptions (Level 1 / Level 2, monthly or annual). When you start a Subscription, you expressly authorize AskAdela, through our payment processor Stripe, to charge your chosen payment method on a recurring basis until you cancel. The price, currency and billing frequency are displayed on the checkout page before you confirm. By submitting the checkout form and clicking the subscribe button, you give your express consent to (a) the immediate recurring charge(s) described on the checkout page and (b) the loss of your 14-day right of withdrawal for any digital content delivered during a free trial (see Sections 6 and 7). You may cancel your Subscription at any time from your dashboard under "Manage Subscription" or via the Stripe customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period — you keep full access until then and are not charged again afterwards. We do not offer pro-rated refunds for partial billing periods except where required by law. If a recurring charge fails, Stripe will retry the payment in line with its standard dunning schedule; if all retries fail, your Subscription is suspended and you lose access to subscription-only content. We may change Subscription prices with at least 30 days' prior notice by email; continued use after the change takes effect constitutes acceptance of the new price.
New subscribers may be offered a free trial (currently 30 days, unless a different length is shown on the checkout page). During the trial your payment method is validated but you are not charged. The trial converts automatically to a paid Subscription at the end of the trial period unless you cancel before it ends. As a welcome gift, your chosen ritual is delivered to you at the start of the trial — that is, before the trial ends. Because digital content is supplied to you before the 14-day withdrawal period expires, you will not be entitled to a refund for that content once the trial converts to a paid Subscription, except where required by law. To avoid being charged, cancel before the last day of the trial. You can check your trial end date and cancel at any time from your dashboard.
Under EU consumer law (Consumer Rights Directive 2011/83/EU, Article 16(m)) you normally have a 14-day "cooling-off" right to withdraw from a digital subscription contract. That right is lost once we begin supplying digital content to you, but only if you have given your express prior consent AND acknowledged that you will lose the withdrawal right as a result. By starting a Subscription with a free trial, you explicitly (i) consent to the supply of the welcome ritual and any other digital content before the 14-day withdrawal period has ended, and (ii) acknowledge that you will lose your right of withdrawal once that supply has begun. This waiver is a condition of using the free trial. Consumers who do not agree to this waiver should not start a free trial and may instead purchase question credits on a one-off basis (see Section 4).
You agree not to submit questions that are: illegal, harmful, threatening, abusive, harassing, defamatory, or otherwise objectionable. We reserve the right to refuse service to anyone for any reason.
All content provided by the Service, including audio recordings, remains the property of AskAdela. You are granted a personal, non-transferable license to use the responses you receive for personal purposes only.
THE SERVICE IS PROVIDED "AS IS" WITHOUT WARRANTIES OF ANY KIND. The guidance provided is for entertainment purposes only and should not be relied upon for making important life decisions. We are not responsible for any actions you take based on the guidance received.
In no event shall AskAdela be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages resulting from your use of the Service.
We reserve the right to modify these terms at any time. Material changes (including changes to Sections 5, 6 or 7 governing Subscriptions and trials) will be communicated by email at least 14 days before they take effect. Continued use of the Service after changes constitutes acceptance of the modified terms.
